In reply to your request concerning my uses for the Ultrasonic Detector (formerly marketed as the Ultraphonic Detector), I am pleased to supply you with the following information.

The original reason we purchased the device was to detect the constant loss of carbon dioxide within our co/2 fire suppression system piping. We were losing large amounts of co/2 from our main storage units and piping and valve arrangements, and were unable to detect the locations with the conventional soap and water leak testing.

Since purchasing the detector, we have expanded our usefulness of the device by applying it to leaking valves on many of our automatic fire sprinkler system control and drain valves, as well as providing leak detection verification on our Halon 1301 fire suppression storage containers. The device has been able to save us time and money in locating leaking fittings and devices without guessing as to where the problem lies. We also put the device to use in locating small air leaks in our new air compressor supply lines. The compressor was recently purchased to fill and test our Scott Air-Paks used by our facility's fire department. We have been losing air from the compressor at the rate of over 300 pounds a day. Every fitting and threaded line was checked with Snoop detector liquid. We never witnessed any air bubbles indicating leakage.

By using the Ultrasonic Detector (formerly marketed as the Ultraphonic Detector), I would estimate we have avoided spending $2,000 on the refilling of three of our most frequently filled carbon dioxide fire protection storage tanks. These tanks range in capacities from 2-3/4 tons to 4 tons. The dollar estimate is based on a one-year period since first purchasing the unit.

I hope you find the aforementioned information useful in your promotion of the detector. If you require additional input from my office, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Very truly yours,
