Diesel fuel contains paraffin wax, which enhances combustion—but when temperatures drop, that same wax can solidify, leading to fuel gelling in the filter. The Universal Fuel Filter Preheater is designed to prevent this issue by gently warming metal diesel filters ranging from 2.5″ to 4″ in diameter.

Universal Preheaters™ are specially designed for compact engines used in demanding environments—such as the Bauer High Pressure Compressor with Yanmar Diesel Engine and the P100 Pump in service with the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy.

As temperatures fall below 40°F, oil in engine and compressor pans thickens, making cold starts difficult and increasing wear.

Use Universal™ Specialty Preheaters to:

  • Deliver better lubrication during cold startups
  • Rope-pull-to-start engines become nearly impossible for one man to spin the engine fast enough to achieve the compression necessary to start.
  • Even electric start engines are affected by the colder weather as the temperature drops. HOT OIL in the pan makes a big difference to start easier.

Universal Battery Preheaters are flexible SBR rubber heating pads designed to be installed beneath the battery, radiating heat from the bottom up to maintain optimal battery performance in low temperatures.

  • Heaters pads are impervious to battery acid and oil.
  • Engineered to maintain batteries at 80 degrees F/27 degrees C to ensure full cranking power.
  • When using a battery heating pads in an insulated battery box, a thermostat is recommended to monitor temperatures to prevent overheating the battery.
  • Battery heater pads are not recommended for nickel cadmium batteries.
