Cold Conditions Impact Truck Fleet Operations
Truck fleet operations in severe cold weather are disrupted when diesel fuel gels and will not flow through the filter. Our research reveals that the actual blockage of the diesel fuel flow occurs in the filter itself, a high percentage of the time. Our Filter Preheaters for vehicles and equipment melt the gelling within minutes allowing the diesel fuel to flow. Designed to fit 2.5 inches to 4 inches diameter metal diesel filters, the Universal Filter Preheater is held in place with two stainless springs and two nylon ties.
Often, in extreme or severe cold conditions, the fuel tank outlet pipe will become plugged. This is often resolved by installing a Universal Peel N Stick Preheater on the tank as close to the outlet pipe as possible. Choose a 12vDC or 24VDC model if your system has the capacity, or use the 120VAC or 240VAC models.

The Universal Preheater™ converts the metal of a housing into a heat transfer element that exposes a large square inch surface of fluid to low watt heat. This design eliminates any chance of burning the fluid supply and still allows rapid heating of the fluid supply.
